Open Plan is dead. Long live Closed Plan

BM and TRW did studies in the 70’s indicating that computer programmers were anywhere from 40% to 400% more productive when they put given their own offices with telephones and doors that close and lock, so they could block out distracting interaction with others, than they were in open office space such as shared computer labs and “bull pens”.
